In November 2005, Dan bumped into an old high school friend in
the Flour Mill of all places. In talking Dan discovered that he and his wife were opening a boutique chocolate shop there
to be call The Chocolate Apothecary. At that point the idea of re-opening a kitchen store and Eric's dream of a family owned
business collided. Many exciting conversations about the concept took place and Eric decided to put his FedEx business
on the market for sale. Eric and his wife Nicole, Dan, Vicky and Emily, Dan's wife and daughter forged ahead with projections,
research, lease negotiations, buying trips and a lot of consultation with Arlyne Nadvornick. Eric found a buyer for
his business and an intense spring and summer erupted with a myriad of details to attend to.
On August 3, 2006 The Kitchen Engine quietly opened its doors
and a new gourmet kitchen store was launched. The public response has been overwhelmingly positive! The whole Frickle
